Remember you don't have to drink alcohol to have fun. If you are going to be drinking make sure you eat before and whilst drinking. Also have a non-alcoholic drink (preferably water) between every alcoholic one. |

Know the liquor laws in the state or country where you are holidaying. Understand where you can legally drink alcohol and don't drink in public places. |

If you're out and about, stay with people you know and trust. Watch out for friends who have become too drunk and take them home safely. Don't let them become a public nuisance. |

When drinking know your alcohol limit. Avoid drinking in rounds, finish each drink before getting another one, and avoid top-ups. |

To avoid drink spiking, always keep an eye on your drink, don't leave your drink unattended or accept drinks from strangers. Don't drink something you did not open, or see opened or poured. If someone offers you a drink, go to the bar with them. |

If you're unsure about your drink or if you think your drink has been spiked. Don’t drink it, and tell a friend, bar or security staff, or the police. |

Keep an eye on yourself and your friends. If you or someone feels dizzy, sick or collapses after a drink call an ambulance immediately. Keep them safe and don't leave them alone. |

Don't mix alcohol and other drugs (Medicinal or Recreational) as
there may be serious side effects. Remember that no recreational drug use is safe and if you are caught with or using illegal drugs you could receive hefty fines or a jail sentence. |

If you take drugs, tell someone what you have taken in case you become sick or unconscious. They can then inform ambulance officers what you have taken in the case of an emergency. |

When going out pre-organise transport so you get there and back safely. Always have a designated meeting area where you can meet up if you get separated, and let someone know where you're going, and when you'll be back. If your plans change, let them know immediately. |

When going out look out for yourself, don't put yourself in a position where you're alone with someone you don't know very well. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, listen to your gut instinct and get to a safe place as quickly as possible.

When you are out dancing and partying, take regular rests to recover, wear light weight clothing to avoid over-heating and sip a minimum of half a litre of water every hour to prevent dehydrating. |

Alcohol and sex can be a dangerous mix. When you know that the other person is so drunk they're incapable of giving you their consent to have sex, you should stop straight away or you may be committing sexual assault. |
